67-Minutes with Youth in Business

Written by Bliss Sibiya – X-Factored Youth

On July 18, 2024, X-Factored Youth proudly hosted the Youth in Business Seminar at the American Corner Pretoria. In celebration of Mandela Day’s 67 Minutes, we took the opportunity to offer a free Business Model Masterclass, featuring valuable partnerships with iMentorU Foundation, Speakingdom, and the 67 CEOs Foundation.

Story

In response to the rising youth unemployment rate in South Africa, X-Factored Youth launched a campaign to promote entrepreneurship. Driven by frustration, we emphasized that the most effective way for young people to take control of their economic futures is by embracing entrepreneurship as a means to make ends meet in South Africa.

We identified strategic partners who shared our vision of improving lives through entrepreneurship for Mandela Day. Through this initiative, we connected with passionate individuals representing incredible organizations dedicated to empowering the youth.

The day finally arrived, and all paths led to the American Corner in Pretoria for a deep dive into entrepreneurship. We hosted over 25 young people who saw this as a valuable opportunity to explore their potential businesses using the Business Model Canvas — a tool that helps both aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs assess their ventures through nine key components.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners: 67 CEOs Foundation for facilitating the Business Model Canvas workshop, iMentorU Foundation for managing and assisting with the venue, and Speakingdom for being an outstanding MC partner for the event.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Youth in Business Seminar was a significant step towards empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs in South Africa. By equipping young people with the tools and knowledge to navigate the business world, we are helping to pave the way for greater economic independence and success. With the continued support of our dedicated partners, we are confident that this initiative will inspire many more youths to take control of their futures through entrepreneurship. Together, we can create lasting change and a brighter future for South Africa’s youth.
